The event was originally planned to take place at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall, but for safety reasons, the live announcement will no longer happen.

Instead, SAG will unveil the nominees on January 8 at 7:30 a.m. PT through a press release and on their official website.

We will also share the full list of nominees here after the press release.

Wildfires in the Pacific Palisades have already destroyed 1,200 acres, and strong winds continue to make the situation worse. With homes and neighborhoods at risk, SAG made the decision to prioritize the safety of everyone involved, including presenters, guests, and staff. In a statement, the organization emphasized their commitment to safety and assured fans that the awards process would continue.

While the live event has been canceled, the SAG Awards ceremony is still set to take place on February 23. Kristen Bell will host the show, which will stream live on Netflix at 8 p.m. ET. The SAG Awards celebrate the best performances in film and television and are often seen as a strong indicator of potential Oscar winners.

The wildfires have also disrupted other events in the entertainment industry. Premieres for major films like “Better Man,” Jennifer Lopez’s “Unstoppable,” and the horror movie “Wolf Man” have been canceled or postponed due to safety concerns.

Despite these challenges, the SAG Awards remain focused on recognizing the talent and hard work of actors. The organization looks forward to celebrating the nominees and winners at next month’s ceremony. For now, everyone is encouraged to stay safe and follow updates as the situation unfolds.
